Owen Orlando scored the go-ahead run on an error in the top of the ninth inning as Noble earned a 3-1 road win Friday over defending Class A baseball champion Biddeford.
Orlando was hit by a pitch to lead off the ninth, stole second, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Carl Gregoire and scored on an error.
Travis Cole had two hits and two RBI for Noble (2-1).
Ernie Dore pitched 8 2/3 innings for Biddeford (2-1), allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking one. He also hit a double. Presley Parenteau drove in the lone run for the Tigers.
OXFORD HILLS 3, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Carter Davis pitched a five-hitter and Finley Cavers singled home the eventual winning run in the third inning as the Vikings (5-0) won a clash of undefeated teams in Fryeburg.
Oxford Hills grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single by Cam Pulkkinen and a sacrifice fly by Jacob Turcotte.
Alex Allain homered for Fryeburg in the bottom of the first. He also scored in the third on a single by Richard Massey.
Fryeburg pitcher Oliver Dean struck out six and allowed two earned runs over six innings.
CAPE ELIZABETH 9, MT. ARARAT 6: Finn Connolly was 2 for 2 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored to lead the Capers (3-1) past the Eagles (2-1) in Cape Elizabeth.
Caiden Johnson also drove in three runs with three hits, including a double. Justin Strunk had a single and a double and scored twice.
Will Davis, Eligh Imrie and Brady Hiltz each hit a double for Mt. Ararat.
FREEPORT 11, MEDOMAK VALLEY 7: Sam Walker and Drew Pound each drove in a pair of runs to lead the Falcons (3-2) past the Panthers (0-4) in Freeport.
Pound and Bryson Jack both scored twice for Freeport.
Nick Bowman had two RBI for Medomak Valley.
GREELY 10, BRUNSWICK 0: Sylas Almy pitched five scoreless innings and had three hits to lead the Rangers (4-0) past the Dragons (2-3) in a five-inning game in Cumberland.
Almy allowed four hits, walked one and struck out nine to earn his second win of the season. He scored three times and drove in a pair of runs, including an RBI single that ended the game in the fifth.
The Rangers scored six runs in the fifth. Alex Rossignol, Barron Silver, Connor Skillin and Luke Piper also drove in a run in the fifth.
Allan Swain had a double for Brunswick.
SACOPEE VALLEY 8, LISBON 7: The Hawks scored two runs in the fifth inning and four in the sixth to rally from a 7-2 deficit against the Greyhounds in Hiram.
Donovan Harvey and Braiden Croteau both drove in two runs for Sacopee. Croteau and Owen Barsanti each had two hits.
Cooper Berkowitz was credited with the win in relief of Harvey. Barsanti struck out the side in the seventh.
Lisbon’s starting pitcher, Lincoln Matthews, gave up one earned run over the first four innings and led the Greyhounds’ offense with a single, a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
SOUTH PORTLAND 5, SANFORD 1: Brady Main was 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI, and Hudson Iacuessa capped a three-run fourth inning with a two-run single as the Red Riots (3-0) defeated the Spartans (0-3) in Sanford.
Alex Baerga-Figueroa stretched South Portland’s lead to 3-0 with an RBI double in the fourth, then scored on Iacuessa’s single that made it 5-0.
South Portland pitchers Ben Morin and Parker Reny combined on a four-hitter.
YORK 4, WELLS 3: Dom Grover had three hits, including a double and a triple, and the Wildcats (1-1) took advantage of five errors on their way to a win over the Warriors (2-3) in Wells.
Henry Ober pitched a complete game for York, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out two and walking four.
Aydan Collins recorded three hits, and AJ Pelletier and Mason Colbeth both had two for Wells.
GORHAM 13, DEERING 1: Hunter Hinck drove in five runs with three hits, including a bases-loaded triple during a seven-run fifth inning that closed out a mercy-rule win for Gorham (3-0) against Deering (0-3) at Hadlock Field.
Wyatt Washburn also had three hits, one of which was a two-run single, and struck out six over four innings. He gave up three hits.
Miles Lawrence hit an RBI double for Deering.
WINDHAM 12, PORTLAND 9: The Eagles (1-2) scored five runs in the top of the first inning without hitting the ball out of the infield and held on for a win over the Bulldogs (0-3) at Hadlock Field.
The big inning featured five walks, a hit batsman, two infield hits and two wild pitches.
Mason Rulman and Sullivan Nappi both had two hits for Windham. One of Rulman’s hits was a double.
Portland got two hits each from Neiker Fuenmayor and Jacob Johnson. Aiden Eisenhart added an RBI double.
SOFTBALL
GORHAM 15, THORNTON ACADEMY 4: Kylee Lebrun and Audrey Arsenault each had two hits and two RBI to lead the Rams (4-0) past the Trojans (1-2) in six innings at Saco.
Terra Rioux also collected two hits and scored three runs.
Thornton’s Theresa Eng drove in two runs with two hits, including a home run.
GREELY 18, BRUNSWICK 2: A 14-run second inning carried the Rangers (1-3) to a three-inning win over the Dragons (0-5) in Cumberland.
Katie Wallace led Greely with four RBI on three hits, including a home run and a double. She also scored three runs, as did Maren Costable. Sami Santerre doubled and drove in three runs.
Brunswick scored its runs in the top of the first on an RBI single by Faith Wallace and an RBI double by Ava Zimmerman.
OXFORD HILLS 8, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Kyeira Morse struck out 13 while tossing a two-hitter and also hit a triple and a single, leading the Vikings (5-0) past the Raiders (3-2) in Fryeburg.
Oxford Hills broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the fifth, then added four runs in the sixth with the help of hits by Kya Smith and Sam McPhail.
SOUTH PORTLAND 12, KENNEBUNK 2: Annie Soucy was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI to lead the Red Riots (2-2) past the Rams (2-3) in a five-inning game in South Portland.
Lucy Wetzel drove in two runs with a single and a triple and also scored twice. Emma Anderson contributed two hits and three RBI, and Sadie Soucy had two RBI.
Paige Williams was 2 for 3 with a double, and Kourtney Brask had a triple for Kennebunk.
WINDHAM 19, NOBLE 5: Oakley McLeod and Yani Kostopoulos both drove in four runs, and Addison Caiazzo was 4 for 4 with four runs scored and two RBI as the Eagles (4-1) outslugged the Knights (0-4) in a five-inning game in Windham.
The top four hitters in Windham’s batting order — Caiazzo, Nola Bryant, McLeod and Kostopoulos — combined for 10 hits, 13 RBI and 12 runs. Bryant was 2 for 2 with three RBI and three runs.
Olivia Upham doubled twice and scored two runs for Noble.
YORK 17, WELLS 0: Anna Fletcher and winning pitcher Sarah Orso both went 4 for 4 and Maya Babcock was 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBI as the Wildcats (2-0) defeated the Warriors (1-4) in four innings, at Wells.
Fletcher drove in three runs and scored three, and Orso, Piper Catanese and Nya Avery each had two RBI. Catanese reached 100 hits for her career.
York pounded out 23 hits.
Khloe Tardiff got the lone hit for Wells.
LEAVITT 7, LAKE REGION 3: Charlee Pelletier doubled and singled for the Hornets (3-1) in a victory over the Lakers (3-3) in Turner.
Leavitt scored twice in the fifth and three times in the sixth to break open a close game.
Hornets pitcher Hailey Cyr took a shutout into the seventh inning and allowed only three hits.
Lake Region’s Haley Hamlin fanned eight Leavitt batters and hit a double.
ERSKINE ACADEMY 10, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Lilly Clark had four hits, including two doubles, and four RBI to lead Erskine (3-1) to a five-inning win over Lincoln (0-3) in Newcastle.
Faith MacMaster added three hits, including a double, and Kelsie Dunn had a single and a double.
Dunn earned the win in the circle, striking out six batters.
GIRLS LACROSSE
FALMOUTH 11, FREEPORT 5: Jaelyn Meader scored four goals, and the Navigators (5-0) beat the Falcons (1-4) in Freeport.
Izzie Camp and Emilia Diaz-Pedrosa each added three goals, while Violet Westburg had one. Falmouth goalie Tessa Woodbury stopped nine shots.
Freeport’s Karleigh Costello tallied three goals, while Claire Carter and Sophie Simard each scored once. Maddie Kryzak made eight saves.
GREELY 9, GORHAM 4: The Rangers outscored the Rams 5-1 in the second half to pull away for a win in Gorham.
MaKenna Seaver paced Greely (3-2) with three goals. Hadley Hatch netted a pair, and Abby Collins, Audrey Ingersoll, Kelsey Crocker and Avery Bush also scored.
Gorham (0-4) got one goal each from Logan Doughty, Haylie Nicely, Kennady Peary and Londyn Wright.
KENNEBUNK 15, CAPE ELIZABETH 5: Camden Keenan recorded three goals and five assists to lift the Rams (5-0) past the Capers (2-1) in Kennebunk.
Anna McCarron scored four goals, Madeline Dowling added three, Alexandra Foy had two and Julianna Urban, Sofie Olsen and Ellie Nunan each had one. Eliza Nass made six saves.
Phoebe Evans tallied three goals and Wylie Stocklein had two for Cape Elizabeth. Ella Boyer stopped four shots.
LEWISTON/OAK HILL 10, DEERING 4: Skylar Vachon paced a balance attack with two goals and three assists for the Blue Devils (2-3) in a win over the Rams (1-3) in Portland.
Gabrielle Roy netted three goals, and Anna Courtemanche and Scarlett Perry each recorded two. Lexus Keene also found the back of the net.
Lewiston goalie Hannah Burleigh stopped 10 shots.
YARMOUTH 14, SCARBOROUGH 8: The Clippers (2-1) erased a 4-3 halftime deficit with a 7-1 surge in the third quarter against the Red Storm (1-2) in Yarmouth.
Celia Zinman and Vivienne Corriveau paced a balanced attack with three goals apiece. Zinman also set up three goals and Corriveau had one assist. Eleanor Weyenberg, Metta Lindsay and Maya Nasveschuk all chipped in with two goals and an assist.
Lily Howes netted four goals and Madison Howes had three goals and three assists for Scarborough.
THORNTON ACADEMY 12, WINDHAM 9: Olivia Sirois had four goals and an assist as the Trojans (3-1) beat the Eagles (3-1) in Saco, snapping a 20-game winning streak for the defending Class A champions.
Bella Jung added three goals and an assist, and Olivia Lamey had two goals and four assists. The Trojans also got two goals and two assists from Oceanna LaMarre, four assists from Addie Lamey and 13 saves from Sophia Auger.
Morgan McLain led Windham with four goals. Neve Ledbetter had two goals and three assists and Mady Donnelly also scored twice.
BOYS LACROSSE
PORTLAND 14, LEWISTON 6: Andy Marvin’s six goals sparked the Bulldogs (3-3) to a victory over the Blue Devils (1-2) in Portland.
Elias Nicholas netted five goals, while Howard Lawson scored twice and Walter Hettenbach once for Portland.
Collin Michaud notched three goals for the Blue Devils. Bernardo Fra-Nero tallied a goal and two assists, and Ben Gradwell added a goal and an assist. Cam Plourde also scored.
