Jo-Dene Alexander
SCARBOROUGH – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jo-Dene Alexander, who departed this life on May 1, 2026, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
Born on Jan. 7, 1957, Jodi was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and friend. Throughout her life, Jodi touched many with their kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit and was known for her love of family and of her animals. Her sense of adventure was known to all. Whether it was her trips to Europe and Morocco after high school, trips around New England on her motorcycle, just relaxing on her beloved pontoon boat or trips in the RV with her husband and dogs, Jodi leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
Jodi is survived by her mother, Anna Dale Melanson; her son, Nicholas and his wife Brittany; her brothers Steven and his wife Theresa, and Michael and his wife Betty; as well as many nieces and nephews. The memories shared and the impact Jodi had on others will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Jodi was predeceased by her father, Charles Melanson; and her husband, Gregg Alexander.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, at Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of Jodi.
We mourn the loss of Jodi, but we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the joy she brought to so many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jodi’s memory to the
Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.
