Jacqueline Ann Chabot

WINDHAM – Jacqueline Ann Chabot, 78, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at Ledgewood Nursing Home in Windham, Maine, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Dexter on June 10, 1947, Jackie was the daughter of the late Gordon Newbert and Helen (LaCasse) Newbert. She grew up with her brother, Gordon Newbert Jr., and her sister, Darlene Selby. On Sept. 11, 1965, she married Douglas Chabot Sr., with whom she shared 46 wonderful years until his passing in 2010.

Jackie was a dedicated worker who spent many years with Shaw’s Supermarkets. Upon her retirement, she and Doug enjoyed their time as “snowbirds,” splitting their seasons between Wassamki Springs in Maine and Tavares, Fla. In her later years, she continued to cherish the friendships and memories made during those travels. Family was the centerpiece of Jackie’s life.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Cleaves and her husband David, Douglas Chabot Jr. and his wife Kelli, and Karen Chabot and her partner Don Hall. She was the proud grandmother of Chad and Joshua Cleaves, Dylon Belanger, Lawrence and Parker Chabot, Chase, Luke, Gage Cote, and Cooper and Addison Hall. Her legacy continues through her 10 great-grandchildren, Haylee, Aubrey, Calvin, Carson, Brynn, Caroline, Callan, Lilah, Branson, and Amara. Jackie also leaves behind her very close friend, Robbin Wilks, and many more who will miss her dearly.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ledgewood Nursing Home and Affinity care of Maine for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Jackie.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Windham Town Hall Gym, 8 School Rd., Windham, ME 04062.
