Top Boston Red Sox pitching prospect Anthony Eyanson hurled five hitless innings in his second Double-A start, and the Portland Sea Dogs opened a series against the Reading Fightin Phils with a 2-0 victory Tuesday night in an Eastern League game at Hadlock Field.

Eyanson (1-0) threw 59 pitches while striking out four and walking three. The rookie right-hander has yet to pitch more than five innings as a professional, but he has given up only 10 hits and two runs in his seven starts, spanning 29 1/3 innings.

Joe Vogatsky followed and gave up two hits over two innings. Reidis Sena struck out five of the six batters he faced, earning his second save.

Portland grabbed the lead in the second inning. Nelly Taylor beat out a two-out infield hit, advanced to second on a error, stole third and then scored on Ahbram Liendo’s infield hit.

In the seventh, Liendo drew a walk, stole second, took third on a throwing error by the catcher and scored on a Franklin Arias single.
