Amy Marsh
WHITING – Amy Marsh, 56, of Whiting tragically and unexpectedly passed away on May 8, 2026. She was born Feb. 2, 1970 in Bath. Amy graduated from Morse High School in Bath in 1988. To those who knew her, it is no surprise that she was voted most school spirit – spirit is something she had plenty of! She went on to attend the University of Maine at Machias and graduated there in 1993. While she attended UMM, Amy met the love of her life, Greg, and began a romance that would last for 38 years.
Amy had a passion for life matched by few. She loved being surrounded by friends and family and could light up any room just by walking in. She brought the same joy and enthusiasm to everything she did, big or small. Whether it was playing a simple game of scat or hiking the Grand Canyon, you could always count on Amy to be fully present with a smile on her face. Amy loved traveling with her beloved Greg around this country that she loved so deeply and did numerous times. Her true happy place was Zion National Park, whose beauty would bring her to tears with each visit.
Without question, however, her greatest accomplishment and joy in this life was her son, Bryant. She was incredibly proud of his accomplishments thus far in his young life and was looking forward to many more. She loved going on peaceful hikes with Bryant and discussing life together. Those moments were so precious for her. It was what she truly lived for.
Amy worked tirelessly to improve life for the people of this state and the whole nation through activities with the Washington County Republican Committee, and was even recently elected the state committee woman for Washington County. She and Greg also had the experience of a lifetime in 2024 representing Maine at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Amy had a deep relationship with our Lord and Savior. She was unwavering in her faith and carried an unmistakable light that anybody could see. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family at Machias Christian Fellowship, where she was an active member volunteering time, energy and resources. Of all the things she and Greg shared in this world, sharing a love of our Lord and doing His work here on earth was her greatest source of joy. The family takes comfort in knowing she is with Jesus, and, in true Amy fashion, undoubtedly preparing for our eventual arrival.
Amy is survived by her loving husband, Greg, of 34 years and her son, Bryant Marsh. She is also survived by cousins, Susan Mitchell, Ross Mitchell and Janet Whorff of Bath, Maine. And, of course, Aunt Cynthia Mitchell, also of Bath, with whom she had a very special relationship. As well as brother-in-law Bill Marsh and wife Anna. Amy’s friends deeply impacted by her passing are too many to list, but include Dean and Teresa McGuire, Dave and Donna Eldridge, Matt and Darnell Kalloch, and Pammy Peterson of Las Vegas. And, lastly, her sisters from the Kappa Eta sorority, who helped bring out the very best in her.
A celebration of life will be on May 24, at 3 p.m., at the Bay Ridge School in Cutler.
