An SUV passenger was killed Tuesday morning in a two-car crash in Penobscot County that injured three other people, authorities said.
The crash at the intersection of state Route 221 and Pushaw Road in Glenburn was reported around 10:15 a.m., the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The sheriff’s office said a pickup truck hauling an empty trailer was driving north on Route 221 when it crashed into a SUV that had been driving south before turning left in front of the truck.
The SUV passenger was taken to a hospital but pronounced dead before arriving. The SUV driver was transported to the hospital with injuries that were considered serious but not life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office did not identify the SUV passenger.
The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and that no more information was available Tuesday.
