Kirby Wilson is the politics editor for the Press Herald. In that capacity, he oversees political coverage for all Maine Trust for Local News publications. Before joining METLN, he was the senior politics reporter for the Tampa Bay Times for nearly a decade. When he’s not chasing political scoops, Kirby enjoys following his beloved Boston Red Sox, singing show tunes and playing board games.

Billy Kobin covers politics for the Press Herald. He joined the newsroom in 2026 after also covering politics for the Bangor Daily News for about two and a half years. Before moving to Maine in 2023, the Wisconsin native reported for the Courier Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, and the Indianapolis Star after graduating from Northwestern University. Billy feels like Maine is right where he needs to be, and apart from reading and enjoying music, he loves getting outside to run, hike, bike, ski and play soccer with friends and family.
