A man died Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle in the Penobscot County town of Bradford, authorities say.
First responders were alerted to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Route 221 in Bradford at about 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Preliminary findings indicate that a sedan traveling south had struck the pedestrian, who was in the roadway, the sheriff’s office said.
First responders performed life-saving measures, but the man was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
The crash remains under investigation, and the sheriff’s office said it was not releasing the names of those involved Tuesday evening.
Glenburn Ambulance and the Bradford Fire Department aided in the response, the sheriff’s office said.
