Herbert N. Huff Sr.

BOOTHBAY – Herbert N. Huff Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 30, 2026, at the age of 89.

Herbert was born on Oct. 2, 1936, to Melvin and Geneva (Morrell) Huff in Windham, Maine. He was a graduate of Windham High School.

Herbert was a man of strong faith and kindness, and he loved his family beyond measure. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a skilled mechanic. In later years, he also used his knowledge to repair and maintain machinery on the farm as well as on a golf course.

Whether by the water with a fishing pole in hand or heading into the woods to go hunting, he treasured the time spent doing these things with his brother-in-law, Martin Vonknoblauch. Those days were filled with stories, laughter, and a bond of friendship that meant the world to him. The outdoors brought peace, and the company of family made those moments even more meaningful.

Though his hands were often busy, his heart belonged to the Lord. He was faithful all his life and cherished his time spent reading his Bible. He spent 34 beautiful years with his loving wife, Edna.

Herbert was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Geneva Huff; all nine of his siblings; and his wife, Edna Huff.

He is survived by his daughter, Bernice Walker and her husband Mark of Windham, his son, Herbert N. Huff Jr. of New Sharon; and his three grandchildren, Mark Walker III of Windham, Katelyn Walker and Kyle Walker both of Westbrook.

Herbert’s family has chosen to celebrate his life privately.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hall Funeral Home, Boothbay. To extend condolences or share a story with the family, please visit Herbert’s Book of Memories at http://www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
