Patricia Ann “Patsy”
Bergeron
BRUNSWICK – Patricia Ann “Patsy” Bergeron (Gott) went home to the Lord on July 12, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on April 18, 1944, in Brunswick, the sixth child of Winifred Erskine and Gerald Gott.
Patsy graduated from Brunswick High School in 1962 and excelled in her business class. During her senior year of high school, she worked at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Admissions and as a switchboard operator. Following graduation, she was offered the position of Secretary to the Executive Director of the Maine Medical Association by Dr. Daniel Hanley. That opportunity led to a fabulous and rewarding 41-year career with physicians throughout Maine, New England, and the United States. During her career, Patsy was promoted to secretary-treasurer of the Maine Medical Association. She was also instrumental in the foundation of the Dan Hanley Center for Health Leadership and served as an active member of its board of directors for 10 years.
Patsy spent many rewarding years planning conventions and gatherings for the Maine Medical Association. She especially enjoyed the annual meetings and personally pinning many physicians during the annual recognition of physicians celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation from medical school.
Patsy married the love of her life, Raymond Bergeron, on Sept. 21, 1963. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two daughters, Lynn Marie Bergeron and Kelly Ann Bergeron.
Patsy and Ray made the most of their life together and never took a moment for granted. They enjoyed watching their girls play sports, traveling together, and enjoying the blessed life they worked hard to build. Her favorite vacations included Hawaii and anywhere warm and tropical. Their adventures together were incredible and a true example of two people who loved each other deeply and enjoyed the life they built together.
Patsy was a woman of true love and dedication in everything she did.
She was creative, intelligent, and full of wisdom. After raising their own children, she and Ray were blessed with grandchildren and poured their love into their lives.
Kelsie, Kyle, and Kameron became such an important part of their world. Patsy was a doting grandmother who loved spending time with them and teaching them about the fun and kind way of life. She taught them about working hard, being true to yourself, and most importantly, the value of family.
A most abundant blessing and addition to the family came when her first great-grandchild, Ava Grace, was born in 2015. Patsy and Ray enjoyed her almost daily and created so many special memories together. At any given time, there were four generations in the house – laughing, loving, and enjoying each other.
The love between Patsy and Ray was truly special. For more than 60 years, they shared a beautiful life together and were true partners.
Ray cared for Patsy with so much love and devotion, especially in the years they shared together at home. The care he gave her was a true reflection of the deep love and commitment they shared throughout their marriage.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond Bergeron; her daughters Lynn Bergeron and Kelly Labbe (Scott); her grandchildren, Kelsie (Luke), Kyle (Claire), and Kameron (Emily); Spencer, Scott’s son; her great-grandchild, Ava Grace; her siblings, Merle Gott (Rachel) and Mary Ellen Cooper; and many nieces, nephews; and godchildren.
Patsy was predeceased by her parents, Winifred Erskine and Gerald Gott; and her siblings, sister, Lois Hyde and brothers Gerald Gott Jr., Victor “Lee” Gott, George “Bill” Gott, and Marshall Gott.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patsy’s lifelong friend, Ginny McIntyre Lake, her sister, Mary Ellen, and all the staff at The Highlands for their kindness, care, and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brunswick Golf Club on Aug. 2, from 12 to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Teen Center of Brunswick
in Patsy’s memory.
