Roseanne Peterson
GORHAM – It is with deep sadness that the family of Roseanne Peterson announces her peaceful passing on July 14, 2026, following a brief illness. She passed away at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center with her family by her side.
Roseanne was born March 3, 1950, in Southington, Conn., to the late Robert and Rosemary (Beatson) Peterson.
She graduated from Southington High School in 1968 and worked for many years at International Silver Co. in Wallingford, Conn. After spending a few years in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., she realized New England was where she truly wanted to be. Roseanne moved back, planting her feet in Gorham, Maine, where she worked at Maine Medical Center until her retirement in 2015.
Roseanne was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Jack Peterson.
She is survived by her sisters Susan Yelvington and Maura Pelletier and her husband, Bob, all of Gorham; her nieces and nephews Jeffrey Dymond of Camp Ellis, Pamela Dymond Daniels (Lucky) of Charlotte, N.C., Matthew Pelletier (Melissa) of East Longmeadow, Mass., and Emily Verner (Dylan) of Bristol, Vt. She also leaves behind many beloved great-nieces, great-nephews; cousins; and extended family members.
Roseanne was known for her compassion, kindness, generosity and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She considered her nieces and nephews her own children, and they, in turn, viewed her as a second mother. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with family, especially the cherished two weeks each year at Pine Point. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate the lives of those she loved, attending birthdays, sporting events, recitals and school performances whenever she could. Roseanne loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the countless memories we will continue to share. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mark Braun, his staff, and Roseanne’s care team at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center for their compassionate care and support.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
