The India Street Neighborhood Association has very good reason to be skeptical of any pledge by Village at Oceangate principal Demetri Dansco. He claims his company has heard the concerns of the neighbors and is “100 percent determined to make a positive impact on the neighborhood by doing a better job to keep this site clean.” But he and his company have ignored complaints about discarded furniture and lack of snow removal around his lot at the corner of Hancock, Newbury, and Middle streets for the last year. How the Planning Board or City Council could consider extending approvals to someone who shows such blatant disregard for the community is beyond comprehension.
