Goodrich excels

Grant S. Goodrich of Gorham has been named to first honors on the dean’s list for the spring semester at Clark University in Worcester, Mass.

Goodrich is a member of the class of 2009. He is studying biology.

Morneault earns degree

Bethany Ann Morneault of Gorham has received a bachelor of science degree, cum laude, in Special Education and Elementary Education from Salve Regina University, Newport, R.I.

Morneault is a member of Delta Epsilon Sigma, the national scholastic honor society at colleges and universities with a Roman Catholic tradition.

Atwood, Bem on dean’s list

Timothy Atwood and Greg Bem, both of Gorham, have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.

Atwood is a junior majoring in history and secondary education.

Bem was named as a senior majoring in creative writing.

Local art at USM

The second annual community juried art exhibit, “Retinal Delights II,” opens on Friday and runs through Friday, Aug. 3, at the Art Gallery on the Gorham campus of the University of Southern Maine.

Gallery hours are noon-7 p.m. on Friday; 1-4 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday, Aug. 3.

The Art Department at the University of Southern Maine and Countrywide Home Loans sponsors the exhibit. It celebrates the art and artists of Gorham and surrounding communities.

Rog ‘n Ray at gazebo

Rog ‘n Ray will be in concert 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the gazebo on the lawn of the public safety building, 270 Main St.

The concert is part of a free summer concert series sponsored by the Gorham Recreation Department.

Sign up for soccer trip

Gorham Recreation Department has set Friday, Aug. 24, as the deadline for registering for a trip to see the New England Revolution play Colorado Rapids on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

The bus will leave at 3:30 p.m. from the Shaw gym at the municipal center, 75 South St. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.

The cost of $40 per person includes transportation and game ticket. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
