This Saturday, thousands of runners and spectators will descend onto Cape Elizabeth for the 10th annual Beach to Beacon road race. The 10-kilometer race, which attracts elite runners from around the world, starts at 8 a.m. on Route 77 near the Crescent Beach State Park and the course runs through town, finishing up by the Portland Head Light at Fort Williams.

Parking along the course is extremely limited, and carpooling is encouraged.

The following roads will be closed in preparation for the race (see map for details)

1) Route 77, from Sprague Hall to Kettle Cove Road-from 6-10 a.m.

2) Route 77, from Kettle Cove Road to Old Ocean House Road-from 7:30-10 a.m.

3) Crescent Beach State Park-from 7:30-10 a.m.

4) Route 77 at Hillway-from 7:30-10 a.m.

5) Old Ocean House Road-from 7:30-10 a.m.

6) Shore Road, from Key Bank to Fort Williams-from 7:30-11 a.m.

7) Scott Dyer Road, from Spurwink Avenue-from 7:15-10 a.m.

8) Fowler Road-from 7:15-10 a.m.
