The new, $600,000 Gorham High School is shown about Aug.1, 1959, as it neared completion. The school approved by voters in March 1958 was on schedule to open for classes in September, 48 years ago. The building committee members were Merle Brofee, Austin Alden, Bernard Rines, Jim Pillsbury, Emery Bowdoin and Walter Stevens.
