For the second year in a row, Hannaford Supermarkets Charitable Foundation has donated $50,000 to the Diabetes Management and Education Program at Mercy Hospital.
Hannaford raised much of the money it’s donating through its Seventh Annual Hannaford Supermarkets Charity Auction.
This gift will help support diabetes education specific to healthy living, with an emphasis on diabetes and pre-diabetes education, said Kathy Beers, manager of Mercy’s Diabetes Management and Education Program.
“Hannaford’s donation will help Mercy develop new programs for people with diabetes and continue to educate the community on a wide range of diabetes issues,” said Beers. “We are most grateful for their generosity.”
