Thanksgiving basket needs are rising
Jeanne Rielly, director of the Westbrook Food Pantry, said she expects the pantry to provide 300 Thanksgiving baskets, up from 250 last year.
The food pantry is at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.
Rielly said volunteers, including a truck driver, are needed on a regular basis. Applications are available on its web site westbrookfoodpantry.org

Triad to meet
The Gorham/Westbrook Triad will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, at Mill Brook Estates, 300 East Bridge St., Westbrook.
Triad is a coalition of senior citizens, law enforcement and community service agencies to sponsor safety for seniors.
Free concert
The Midcoast School of Music is presenting a free concert performance by three of the school’s student ensemble groups at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, at Stockhouse Station, 506 Main St., Westbrook.
Those who attend can hear the British Invasion Ensemble, the Journey/Led Zeppelin Ensemble and the Midcoast School of Music All Stars.

Parking ban begins Nov. 15
Westbrook’s overnight winter parking ban starts Thursday, Nov. 15. Parking vehicles on any street for more than one hour between the hours of 12:01 a.m. 6 a.m.is prohibited through April 15.
Officers will begin issuing parking warnings this weekend. After Nov. 15, vehicles parked in violation of the ban can be ticketed and in some cases towed.
