THE CARPET BARN: In the late 1960s, Ronald Danie opened a carpet, rug and floor covering business in the large barn at 468 Main Street. On Oct. 21, 1972, an early morning fire destroyed the building, left. Mr. Danie relocated the business to lower Main Street in Gorham. The site of the old barn now is a vacant lot.
