‘Bail’ money needed

Gorham Fire Chief Robert Lefebvre and Jeremy Greene (aka the Art Guru) both will be “arrested” on June 3 by the Muscular Dystrophy Association and each needs $800 to pay “bail.” The money will allow the association to send children to summer camp and further the research needed to find a cure.

Lefebvre requests that his bail money be sent to him at Gorham Fire Department, 270 Main St., Gorham. Greene’s can be sent to him at 27 State St., Gorham.

Free car wash

Gorham Middle School’s eighth-grade class is having a free car wash Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Rite Aid in Gorham. Donations or tips would be graciously accepted. The boys and girls will work together to have fun, rain or shine. They are preparing to celebrate the end of the school year as they are nearing their transition onto entering high school in the fall.

Grange yard sale

The North Scarboro Grange will host an indoor yard sale Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Grange Hall, Route 22. Baked goods and sandwiches will also be on sale.

Church plant sale

The West Gorham Union Church will have its annual plant, rummage and bake sale on Saturday from 8 a.m.- to 3 p.m. The church is located three miles west of Gorham village on Route 25 near the intersection of Route 112.

U.S. taxpayer debt

The Bureau of Public Debt reported on May 21 that the U.S. public debt was $9,373,415,957,965.12.
