The Standish American Legion Standish Memorial Post 128 would like to thank the community and members of other service posts, who attended our tribute to all brothers and sisters who have given their lives in defense of our country and our beliefs. A wreath was placed at the foot of the post monument on the Veterans Park Memorial adjacent to the entrance to Standish Municipal Center.

The Standish American Legion was well represented at the recent Standish Community Family Fair. Held at the town’s municipal building, it was a huge success. Attending were Commander Carl Henrikson, Adjutant Stan Davis, Service Officer Albert Springer, First Vice President Mike Steven and Peter Hassapelis, public relations.

Debi Munton with Ruth Ann Cochran of the Red Cross processed the people who donated to the successful blood drive. Public safety, firefighters and EMTs were well represented with an impressive display of all the equipment available to help the people of Standish out of harm’s way.

The varied displays were outstanding. An impressive line of bicycles were donated and raffled. There was the aroma of sausages and other tasty food cooking filling the air.

A big “well done” to the coordinators of the event and the people of Standish for their participation.
