Downeast Energy & Building Supply will award scholarships to high school seniors, graduates planning to enroll or students already enrolled fulltime at approved secondary vocational technical institutes for the heating or building trades. Each scholarship will be a maximum of $1,000 per academic year.
“We realize that a post-secondary education is increasingly necessary but that it is also increasingly expensive,” said Betsy Morrell, vice president of Downeast Energy & Building Supply. “We hope by helping students attain post-secondary degrees we can foster leaders of tomorrow who will make substantial contributions to their communities.”
To be eligible, an applicant must:
• be high school senior, planning to enroll or a student already enrolled full-time at a vocational technical institute in the heating or building trades.
• possess scholastic merit and provide evidence of a well-rounded personality and qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
• cannot be a family member of a Downeast employee.
The deadline to apply is April 1. For more information on the program and to download an application, visit www.downeastenergy.com or contact Morrell at [email protected].
