A section of County Road (Route 22) in Gorham is expected to be closed until about 3 p.m. following a single vehicle accident that snapped a utility pole at 9:45 a.m. Monday.

Officer Michael Coffin of Gorham Police Department said Christopher Waterhouse, 26, of Scarborough wasn’t injured in the crash. Coffin said Waterhouse was eastbound on County Road when he lost control of his four-wheel drive pickup truck because of slippery road conditions.

Coffin said the pickup crossed the centerline and flipped over after striking a utility pole. A bystander helped Waterhouse, who was alone, from the pickup.

Police said the incident occurred at 255 County Road near Deering Road.

A utility crew is replacing the pole.
