Police are on the lookout for an armed robber who held up Payless Shoe Source at the Westbrook Crossing shopping center on Main Street in Westbrook at around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Police Chief Bill Baker, the suspect “demanded cash from the clerk, got it and fled.”

The incident was similar to one at Westgate Plaza in Portland earlier in the evening.

Baker said police are interviewing witnesses.
