This letter is about the quarry and blacktop plant proposal to be constructed on Route 237 on the site of Lachance Brick Co.

The engineering firm that did the air quality study for Shaw Brothers has stated that the prevailing winds during the summer are from the west and northwest. He also stated that downtown should not be affected.

This means any noise (blasting, tailgate slamming, stone crushing, back-up beepers and trucks entering and leaving the site) will travel to the east and southeast. All particles such as dust and/or silica dust will also travel accordingly. All air pollution such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, odor and any other pollution emitted from the asphalt plant will travel to Westbrook.

This plant will be operating seven days a week, 24 hours a day during the summer months.
