Military collection society’s topic

The Westbrook Historical Society will meet Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at 17 Dunn St.

The program will be “Exploring our Collection…Remembering our Past.” Artifacts and articles from the society’s vast military collection will be explored. Donna Conley, president of the society, said the program is free and open to the public.

Duddy to entertain seniors

Country singer Jose Duddy will perform when Westbrook Senior Citizens meet at 1 p.m. on Monday at Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St.

The seniors are planning a trip to Foxwoods on Wednesday and to Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, N.H., on Sunday, March 16, for St. Patrick’s Day.

Study parliamentary procedures

The Thomas B. Reed Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians is sponsoring 14 meetings on the first Thursday of each month, beginning March 6 in Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St.

The meeting will be 10:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Colleen G. Reed, Westbrook, president of the unit, said parliamentary procedures and effective meetings would be studied. A study book can be purchased.

A professional registered parliamentarian, Reed said the sessions are for present or future officers of any organization, who want to improve their understanding of structure of meetings.

In January, Reed was elected president of the unit and Dolores Ellis, Cape Elizabeth, vice president. Both were elected for two-year terms.

Legion to meet

The Stephen W. Manchester Post 62 of the American Legion will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at 17 Dunn St.

A dinner precedes the business meeting.

Tony DiRenzo, Westbrook, celebrates his birthday in style last month at Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club in Playa Cofresi, Dominican Republic. He is being taken to the airport in style, via helicopter. DiRenzo, a Gorham High School graduate in 1963, turned 63 on Jan. 23.
