Historians hear Eagan
The Westbrook Historical Society will meet Monday at 1:30 p.m. in their museum at 17B Dunn St.
Following a short business meeting, the program “The Irish are Coming” will be presented by Eileen Eagan, associate professor of history at the University of Southern Maine and an author of one of the chapters in Michael Connolly’s book on the Maine Irish entitled “They Change Their Skies.” She will speak about the arrival of Irish groups in Maine. This program is free and open to everyone.
Haven’s host Easter bunny
The Easter bunny is once again making appearances at Haven’s Candies locations. He’ll appear Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at Haven’s Westbrook factory location, 87 County Road, and Sunday
from 1-3 p.m. at the Haven’s Candies Windham shop, Route 302 and River Road in The Shops at Sebago.

Post 197 to elect officers
Memorial Post 197 of the American Legion will hold final nominations of officers on Tuesday in a special meeting. The election of officers will be on Tuesday April 17, followed by a membership meeting; both meetings start at 6 p.m. Polls will be open for voting from noon to 6 p.m. “We encourage all members to attend and get involved,” said Dave Martin, post commander
New grandparents
Marc and Kathy Mailhot have announced the birth of their first grandchild, MacKenzie Madisyn Mailhot.
MacKenzie was born at Central Maine Medical Center on Thursday March 22, at 9: 48 p.m. MacKenzie weighted 8 pounds and 15 ounces and was 21 inches long. “Mighty Mac,” as I call her, is just adorable,” Marc Mailhot said. He said MacKenzie is the daughter of Christopher Mailhot and his girlfriend Missie Labbie of Auburn.
Magician at meeting
Magician Dennis Labbe will entertain when Westbrook Senior Citizens meet at 1 p.m. on Monday at Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St. A business meeting will precede the program.
The seniors are planning a five-day trip to Niagara Falls in May. A passport will be required. For more information, call 854-2292 or 854-2705.
Post 62 to meet
The Stephen W. Manchester Post 62 of the American Legion will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the post headquarters at 17 Dunn St. for a catered dinner.
Members gather at 5:30 p.m. for socializing and a business meeting follows the dinner.

On Monday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m., and again at 6 p.m., Casey Family Services will host an informational meeting about foster care and adopting in Maine at Walker Library, 800 Main St., Westbrook.

Gretchen E. Carroll of Westbrook has been named to the University of Hartford dean’s list for fall 2006.
