Westbrook police are investigating two fires that destroyed two trailers just feet away from each other, a full day apart. The trailers are parked at 84 Warren Ave., the property of Seldon Von Herton, who lets the owners park and use the space for storage. According to Westbrook Fire Capt. Chuck Jarrett, area homeless people had broken into the trailers and were using them for shelter. Westbrook firefighters responded to the first fire at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday and to the second at around 7 a.m. Monday. Jarrett said no on was injured in the fires, but ceramic tiles and possessions of the homeless people living there, along with the trailers, were completely destroyed.
