Windham 0
Kennebunk 5
Imre Kormendy scored two goals to lead Kennebunk over Windham, 5-0, Tuesday. The loss drops the Eagles to 3-4-1, with seven still to play.
Kennebunk got a quick goal when Kormendy scored less than a minute into the game.
“It’s high school soccer,” says Windham coach Jim O’Connor. “I think 75 percent of the teams who win score first.”
That is exactly what happened in this case. Just 10 minutes later, the Rams scored again when Chris Kain beat two defenders to get the goal.
Zach Broadhead and Spencer Pope combined for six saves to preserve the shutout.
Conor Finn and Chris Gassman also scored for the Rams as they improve to 6-2-1.
Windham will start a four-game homestand tonight against Marshwood.
