Quilts and rugs show

A variety of new and old quilts in addition to hooked and penny rugs will be displayed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Bar Mills Community Church, corner of Portland and Hermit Thrush roads in Buxton.

The annual golf classic and silent auction to benefit Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16, at Dutch Elm Golf Club, 5 Brimstone Road, Arundel.

Check in is 11:15-11:45 a.m. for the scramble format with a shotgun start at noon. Awards, auction and barbecue will follow the event. Cost of play and food is $400 for corporate teams or $110 for individual players.

USM dean’s list

Laura Bell of Bar Mills has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Southern Maine.
