Walkers to meet at Walker
Southern Maine Volkssporting Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., Westbrook.
The group will hear a guest speaker from Full Circle Synergy School of T’ai Chi and Ch’uan. The topic will be an introduction to T’ai Chi and acupressure.
The group’s next event will be a Saco Bay Trails walk on Oct. 15.

Eagles plan Christmas fair
The Westbrook Eagles will sponsor a Christmas Fair 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 89 Saco St.

Masonic open house
Bruce Henderson has announced that Saccarappa Lodge will host an open house 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 573 Main St., Westbrook.
Henderson, who is lodge master, said information would be available about Masonry and refreshments will be served. The open house is in connection with a membership drive.

Be a Walker friend
Friends of Walker Memorial Library said its meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct, 10, at the library, 800 Main St., is open to those who would like to become a friend.
“Our friends have just completed a very successful book sale and raised over $1,400, some of which goes to a graduating senior as a scholarship toward college freshmen textbooks,” Edna Flaherty, president of Friends of Walker Memorial Library, said.
Flaherty said those planning to attend could take something apple or pumpkin. For more information, call the library at 854-0630.
Pelletier honored
Penny Esposito, transportation director at Westbrook School Department, said George Pelletier, driver of bus No. 24, has been chosen by his peers as the first recipient of the Employee of the Month award.
