Scarborough-based engineer Tim Merritt received the Engineer of the Year award from the Maine Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers during its recent annual meeting.

Merritt works at Stantec’s Scarborough office and earned the honor for “showcasing noteworthy engineering skills that have made significant contributions to communities throughout Maine,” according to a company press release.

Merritt manages Stantec’s local surface transportation group and has more than 23 years of experience in the planning, design, management and construction of highway, power and industrial building structures, the press release said.
