The Big Maine Event, a fundraiser for the Portland Players, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The fifth annual event includes dinner and a show. Presented by Peter French and Thommie Retter, the Big Maine Event will feature Broadway talent, including Tony Award winner Trent Kowalik and Michael Nigro from NBC’s “The Sound of Music Live,” plus local talent.

Also, anyone registered for the Big Maine Event is also welcome to attend a master tap class, taught by Retter, which will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, from 10-11:30 a.m.
