PORTLAND — The Maine Turnpike Authority is advising drivers using the highway to reduce speed because of early morning snow.
The agency at the request of state police today reduced the speed limit on the highway to 45 miles per hour between Exit 53 in West Falmouth and Exit 109 in Augusta.
Motorists were being asked to travel with caution.
Police are reporting some minor accidents, including one at mile marker 60 northbound and another at mile marker 66 in the southbound lanes.
Brief but heavy snow showers moving through the region early this morning were expected to dump a quick 1 to 2 inches of snow.
