SACO — Community minded individuals with some free time and blessed with a talent for cooking are currently in demand by the Saco Meals Program.
Good Shepherd Parish officials say that they are seeking one more cook to work with the program on Thursdays.
Besides a cook, Saco Meals also is in need of ground coffee and clean plastic grocery bags. Donations for the meals program can be made at Most Holy Trinity Parish Hall in Saco.
The Saco Community Meals Program was launched more than 18 years ago as a joint project of the Saco Council of Churches and now operates as part of community outreach by Good Shepherd Catholic Parish.
Its mission is to feed the hungry and needy in our area.
Dinners are offered on Mondays and Thursdays at the Most Holy Trinity Parish Hall at 271 Main St. in Saco.
Donations for the dinners are always welcome, but no fee is charged for the dinner, officials say.
To sign up to serve as a cook for Thursday dinners, send an email to Jacqueline Newport at [email protected] or call 604-0985.
