OLD ORCHARD BEACH — It was a beautiful night at The Ballpark as the Old Orchard Beach Surge (3-5) fell to the Watertown Bucks (6-4) with a final score of 2-1 in game one of their three-game series.

The Bucks took an early 1-0 lead in the first with an RBI double from DH Leon Stimpson.

Jacob Fabry started off the 4th with a lead off walk, he then used his speed to outrun a throw to 2nd, eventually making it to third base on a passed ball.  Sam DiMatteo made it a tie game, sending Fabry home with a sac hit to short.

The game remained tied until the sixth inning, when Bill Creighton gave the Bucks a 2-1 lead with a solo shot to deep right.

The Surge looked to rally in the seventh, but were unable to capitalize, and stranded three runners on base.

Starting pitcher Tyler Levine went seven solid innings, striking out three, walking just one, and allowing two runs.

The Surge again looked to rally in the eighth, with Sam DiMatteo leading off with a textbook bunt for a single.  Chris Ray and Joe Coyne then walked, leaving the bases loaded for the Surge, who were again unable to capitalize on the scoring opportunity, again stranding three runners.

The Surge look to rally back this morning, with the first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. here at The Ballpark.
