BIDDEFORD — Roger R. Paquette, 71, of Biddeford died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. 

He was born April 25, 1946, in Biddeford a son of Rosaire and Marguerite P. (Roy) Paquette. Roger was educated locally, graduating from Biddeford High School in the Class of 1964.

On June 29, 1968, he married Denise Dube in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Roger had been employed as a welder at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 36 years, retiring in 2013.

Roger loved fishing and working with his hands: painting, gardening, building birdhouses, and metalworking. He enjoyed driving his Mustang and riding his motorcycle. His greatest joy came from time with family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by: Denise, his wife of 49 years, of Biddeford; one son, Steve Paquette and his wife, Valerie, of Lyman; two daughters, Lisa Perry and her husband, Robert Sinks, of Biddeford, and Lynn Littlefield and her, husband, Shawn of Sanford; two sisters, Suzanne Sexton and her husband, Grady, of Biddeford, and Lucille Anken and her husband, Timothy, of Florida; nine grandchildren, Astachia, Alex, Melody, Taylor, Emilee, Ryan, Owen, Alyssa, and Madison; four  great-grandchildren, Arabella, Rylie, Wesley and Max; and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
