OLD ORCHARD BEACH — A battle of unbeaten teams went heavily in favor of the home team on Saturday, as host Old Orchard Beach pulled away from Waynflete, 72-45, in a WMC girls basketball clash.
The Seagulls (4-0) held a 13-point lead over the Flyers (4-1) at halftime, but pulled away in the second half for the 27-point win.
Abby Doubois scored a team-high 20 points for the Seagulls, while Brianna Plante had 16 on four 3-pointers ”“ three in the first quarter ”“ and Lauralee Small and Peyton Feitz added 11 and 10, respectively.
Haley Plante and Mackenzie Rague each dished out six assists.
