SACO — Gisele Boutin Hoctor, 82, of Saco, passed away on the evening of Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in Biddeford on May 24, 1932, the daughter of Alfred and Lydia Gagnon Boutin.

Gisele attended elementary school at St. Andre’s School in Biddeford, and graduated from Biddeford High School with the Class of 1950.

As a young woman, Gisele had a successful career as an executive assistant at the Biddeford City Clerk’s Office, Saco Lowell Corporation and Raytheon Corporation.

She and her husband, Richard Joseph Hoctor, wed on Sept. 11, 1954, and enjoyed a long and happy marriage. They relocated to Chelmsford, Massachusetts in 1960 and resided there until their retirement in Maine in 2001.

Gisele greatly enjoyed decorating, cooking, gardening, music and reading, with a particular fondness for the classics and 19th-century British literature. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time in the summer at Cape Cod and on the Maine coast. Most of all, she loved to be with her family and close friends, and was completely devoted to her daughter and two grandchildren.

Gisele was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard, in June 2012; and her seven elder siblings, Paul Boutin, Frank Boutin, Lucille Desroberts, Jacqueline Callahan, Ruth Shevenell, Paulette Madore and Bernard Boutin.

She is survived by: one daughter, Lydia Hoctor Atwood of South Portland; two grandchildren, Seth and Grace Atwood; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church, Good Shepherd Parish, 271 Main St. in Saco. Gisele’s family will receive attendees beginning at 10 a.m. in the vestibule of Most Holy Trinity Church, prior to the service on Monday.
