GRAY (AP) — State police say a driver whose car collided with a paving roller on the Maine Turnpike Monday has died.
Police say Henry Roy, 89, of Lewiston died shortly after arriving at Central Maine Medical Center. Police say he struck a construction barrel before colliding with the roller.
Police say the operator of the roller was Blaine Bradeen, 49, of Livermore and he was taken to the hospital with leg injuries.
The crash occurred in an area of the north side of the turnpike that had been reduced down to a single lane for paving operations. It happened just before the Gray exist ramp.
