From the Journal Tribune: “John Ramsay is looking forward to graduating this spring from Thornton Academy, but for three years he struggled academically. At the end of his junior year he was called down to see his guidance councilor who told him that he didn’t have enough credits to become a senior. His advisors presented him with three options: Ramsay could attend summer school to catch up and repeat his junior year at TA the next fall, he could enroll in an adult education program to obtain his general education diploma or he could enter the Saco/Old Orchard Beach Alternative Education Program.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “The Past Noble Grands Association of Evangeline Rebekah Lodge met last night at the home of the Misses Madeline and Leah Robie, Granite Street, Biddeford, when it was voted to donate a gift of money for the exchange table at the District Meeting.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Herbert E. Hight of Saco died in his home, 163 Lewis Ave on Sunday afternoon after a severe illness of some six weeks, with blood poisoning. His age was 62 years and 7 months. He was in his usual health up to about six weeks ago when he cut one of his hands while at his work in the York mills and getting some poisonous matter into the wound, the illness resulted which caused his death. He was employed at the mills for almost 40 years.”
