BIDDEFORD — James B. McKenzie, 74, of Biddeford, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

He was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Waterville, a son of Charles K. and Dorothy M. (Jordan) McKenzie. Coming to Scarborough as a child, he was educated in local schools, and was a graduate of Scarborough High School.

James served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. While working at the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Scarborough, he met Vivian Audie, who was employed at the Humpty Dumpty facility next door. They were married on Oct. 21, 1967.

He was employed for 34 years at Central Maine Power Co. as a meter technician, retiring in 2004.

James enjoyed reading watching wrestling and following New England professional sports, including the Patriots and the Red Sox. He loved the time he spent with his brother David, his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and Vivian Audie McKenzie, his wife of 28 years.

He is survived by: One daughter, Kathi Worell and her husband Rich of Saco; two sons, Brian McKenzie of Biddeford and Kevin McKenzie and his wife Kristyn of Saco; five grandchildren, Colby Doran, Katelyn McKenzie, Cooper Doran, Ella McKenzie and Jordan McKenzie; two brothers, William McKenzie of Augusta and David McKenzie and his wife Patricia of Old Orchard Beach; his former sister-in-law, Carolyn McKenzie of Old Orchard Beach; his former son-in-law, John Doran Jr. of Arundel; his former daughter-in-law, Tracy McKenzie of Biddeford; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
