BRUNSWICK – Charles Pullin Baker died on May 7, 2019, at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. Charles “Charlie” was born on Feb. 5, 1955, to Forrest and Pearl Baker. He was a merchant mariner since he was 17-years-old and traveled the world and returned with many great stories for which he was known.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents and many wonderful friends and shipmates. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Boardman-Baker of Brunswick; son, Peter Olaf Baker and his wife, Travy Moncure, of Yarmouth; and two adored grandchildren, Seamus and Elsa Baker (to whom he was known as “Bumpa”).
We would like to thank the team at Hospice of Southern Maine and Gosnell Memorial Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Charlie and our family in his final days/months.
Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.FuneralAlternatives.net
Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives, Brunswick.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
