That was the case on Wednesday night as the visiting Bonny Eagle Scots knocked down 13 3-pointers on their way to a 59-45 win over Biddeford.
“They shot the ball well. They got 13 (3-pointers) and they probably shot over 50- percent for the game,” said Biddeford coach Justin Tardif. “I thought we gave up a couple of clean looks, but I also thought we contested a lot of shots and they just made their threes tonight. That was the difference, I thought we were pretty even, they just made their threes.”

Bonny Eagle used a 20-10 second-quarter run to take a 28-21 lead into the break – and they would continue to put up points in the second half.
Connor Sirois hit two of his three 3-pointers in the third to help the Scots take a 45-36 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the final frame, the Scots hits 11-of-13 shots from the foul line to secure the victory.
Tardif was happy with his team’s effort.
“They play hard. They will play hard all the way through,” said Tardif of his team. “I think it’s just the way they are built. They are going to play hard all the way through and just give it their all.”
Despite the Tigers’ all-out effort, the Scots’ hot shooting would be too much to overcome.
“I really think it was just their ability to shoot. We cut it to like two or three points a couple of times in that second half and whenever we did that, boom, they made a 3-pointer in the corner or off a screen … give them credit,” said Tardif.
Bonny Eagle was led by Troy Bogdahn and Isaiah Peters, who both finished the game with four 3-pointers and 18 points.
Patrick Pearl led the Tigers with 14 points. Austin Dutremble added nine points and Kyle Norton chipped in with eight.
The loss drops the Tigers to 1-9 on the season, but Tardif believes his program is headed in the right direction.
“There’s no question we’ve gotten better each year,” said Tardif, who is in his third year as the Tigers’ head coach. “We’ve been more competitive this year than we have ever been. We are definitely closing the gap on teams … I think last year we lost to these guys by 35 points, so we are definitely closing the gap.”
The Tigers will look to bounce back quickly when they visit Marshwood tonight.
“We just have to play next play and just move on. That’s a tough game for us going down there to Marshwood, so we will see how the kids respond to that,” said Tardif.
