U.S. Army National Guard Pvt. Leanne M. Strauss has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. During the nine weeks of training, Stauss studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. Strauss is the daughter of Poland W. Strauss Jr. of North Berwick and sister of Andrew T. Strauss of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. She graduated in 2014 from Pottstown Senior High School, Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
