STANDISH — Robert J. Lamontagne Jr. 70, of Standish passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland surrounded by his family.

He was born in Travis City, Michigan on May 18, 1945, a son of Robert J. and Margaret (Bellows) Lamontagne Sr. He was a graduate of Thornton Academy, class of 1963, were he was a star athlete in football and basketball.

Robert was employed at the Pepperell, Pitney Bose, Forest City Chevrolet, Frank Galos Chevrolet and Universal Underwriters (Zurich). At Universal Underwriters he was an 11 time Presidents Club Winner. He was a member of the Windham Eagles, were he enjoyed spending time with friends and watching the Patriots games. Some of his favorite pastimes were doing crossword puzzles, jumble, crypto quip, playing cards, golfing, fishing, snowmobiling, boating and always being with his family and friends. He always looked forward to Prince Spaghetti night dinners with good friends Dave Driscoll and Dotty Regan.

He was preceded in death by his son John Lamontagne.

He is survived by: his wife, Jeanne of 31 years; two daughters, Sharon and her partner Mark and Susan and her partner Becky; two sons, David and his partner Anita, and Robert III and his wife Dawn; two brothers, Kenneth L. Lamontagne and his wife Raylene of Seabrook, New Hampshire, and Roger A. Lamontagne and his wife Judy of Saco; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
