SANFORD — Maine House Reps. Anne-Marie Mastraccio and Patty Hymanson, both Democrats, have earned 100 percent ratings from the group Maine Conservation Voters.
The statewide environmental advocacy group examined four issues from the first session of the 127th Legislature, including metallic mining rules, restoring funding to Efficiency Maine, requiring the governor to release voter-approved bonds for the Land for Maine’s Future Program and a bill that would have required the state to pay landowners if future laws passed by the Legislature significantly reduced their property values.
Mastraccio serves in Sanford, while Hymanson’s district includes a portion of Sanford.
The mining rules were rejected; the Legislature failed to override Gov. Paul LePage’s veto of the bill regarding the Land for Maine’s Future bonds and the regulatory “takings” bill was defeated. The Legislature successfully overrode LePage’s veto of a bill, so that funding was restored to Efficiency Maine.
