DEXTER (AP) — Maine wardens say a Corinna man has died near a home on Lake Wassookeag in Dexter.
Wardens say 69-year-old Gerry Marshall apparently got into trouble while using a personal watercraft to retrieve a pontoon boat that had drifted away from his property on Thursday. A short time later, construction workers at Marshall’s camp on shore saw him floating in the water in a life jacket.
The workers brought Marshall to shore and attempted life saving measures. Dexter Emergency Medical Services also performed CPR before Marshall was declared dead at the scene.
Wardens say it’s unclear what caused Marshall’s death. The death remains under investigation and Marshall’s body will be examined by the state medical examiner.
