BATH — Marion E. Pyne, 86, of HillHouse, Bath, Maine, and formerly of Brockton, MA , died Wednesday, September 18, 2013.

She was born in Brockton, MA, on December 19, 1926, a daughter of James Francis Sr. and Elizabeth A. (O’Brien) Pyne.

She graduated from Brockton High School, University of Rhode Island and Cornell University. She was a teacher at Regis College and in 1974 was employed at the Brockton Veterans Hospital as a dietician.

She was a volunteer for New England prison ministries and for Duxbury Art Complex. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brockton, MA, where she served on an ecumenical study group. She enjoyed attending concerts and museums in Boston and reading at the Boston Public Library.

She is survived by one brother, James Pyne II and his wife Sarah of Bradenton, FL, nieces, Sharon Pyne of Woolwich and her daughters, Bridget and Nora McElroy, Susan Olsen of Bradenton, FL, Shannon Pyne and Tricia Pyne of Cape Cod, and one nephew, Christopher Pyne of Cape Cod. She was predeceased by one brother, Charles Pyne and one nephew, James Pyne III.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle, Maine at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Newcastle.

Arrangements are by Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath.
