BANGOR (AP) — A federal judge sentenced a northern Maine man to nearly three years in prison for unlawful possession of firearms.

Thirty-five-year-old George D. LaCasse of Caribou pleaded guilty to the charges in April. He will also spend three years under supervised release.

Court records say LaCasse arranged for another person to buy him a pistol in Presque Isle in May 2014. LaCasse was prohibited from possessing firearms because of a 2009 felony conviction in Massachusetts.
