BANGOR (AP) — A man has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges that he assisted in a Guilford, Maine, pharmacy robbery.
Prosecutors say 37-year-old Clifford Sprague pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Bangor. Court records say pharmacy robber Michael Thompson called Sprague for a ride after stealing more than $5,000 worth of narcotics from the pharmacy.
Prosecutors say Thompson told Sprague he had robbed the pharmacy. A judge sentenced Thompson to nearly seven years in prison for his role in the robbery in June.
Sprague also pleaded guilty to unrelated charges of making false statements to obtain social security disability insurance benefits. Prosecutors say Sprague received $12,864 in benefits for himself and his three children. They say he falsely represented himself as having disabilities that required someone to bathe and cook for him.
